How to Stop "Doom Scrolling"

The average student spends 4 hours a day on their phone. That is 28 hours a week—basically a part-time job that pays you nothing.

1. Greyscale Mode

Go to your phone settings and turn your screen to "Greyscale" (Black and White). Without the vibrant colors, apps like Instagram become instantly boring to your brain.

2. The "Other Room" Rule

When studying, your phone must be in another room. If it is on your desk, even face down, it drains your cognitive resources because you are actively resisting the urge to check it.

3. Use App Blockers

Install apps like "Forest" or "Freedom" that lock you out of social media for set periods of time.
